PRACTICE and PREPARATION are two of the most important tactics when looking for that new job. Just like in any sport, there is time that is required to be invested before you hit the playing field. Don’t let them go unnoticed; always be prepared! Our team of recruiters has put together a list of frequently asked questions for you to review before you interview with a potential employer. Anticipating key questions and rehearsing your responses could be the key to hitting a home run during your interview! If you have any questions about how to answer any of them, feel free to reach out to your Alliance recruiter as we are experts in our respective fields and here to help.

Practice and Preparation for your interview

Describe your most important accomplishment with your present company.
What haven’t you accomplished in this period that you feel you should or wish you had?
What do you like best about your present or most recent company and what would you change if you could?
What do you like best and least about your supervisor?
What types of people do you find it easiest to get along with?
What types of people are the most difficult for you to get along with?
How do you handle confrontation?
What are your career goals?
If you are currently not employed, what have you been doing since your last position? (You should also be prepared to discuss all gaps in employment.)
What are you looking for in an employer?
Do you work better in a structured or unstructured environment?
Of all the jobs you have held, what was your favorite and why?
Which was your least favorite and why?
What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Describe a situation where you were faced with an issue and how did you over come that situation?

In addition to being prepared for the employers questions, you should also be prepared with questions for them. Ensuring that they are a good fit for you, is just as important! Remember, do your research, don’t ask questions that are clearly answered on the company website.
